Four GB skaters arrive in Tallinn for Junior World Figure Championships

Four British skaters are set to compete at the Junior World Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn, Estonia, that start on Thursday 14th April.


Ed Appleby who has had a breakthrough season, picking up a Junior Grand Prix bronze medal and fourth place at the European Youth Olympic Festival, will skate in the men’s singles. The two-time Junior British champion will be the first Brit to skate as the men’s short program gets the competition underway at 13:00 (BST).

Elena Komova who also skated at the European Youth Olympic Festival will feature in the women’s singles. Her first time on the ice will be on Saturday from 08:50.


Phebe Bekker and James Hernandez will represent Great Britain in the Ice Dance. The duo who won their first Junior British title in December skate their Rhythm Dance from 12:15 on Friday.


At total of 145 skaters from 40 ISU members are set to compete at the Championships that were originally scheduled to take place in Sofia, Bulgaria from 7th-13th March. The ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2021 were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
