Collins makes 1500m semi-final at Junior Short Track World Championships

Theo Collins made it through to the 1500m semi-final at the ISU World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Gdansk, Poland last weekend. He made it comfortably through his quarter-final in second place, with Adam Hill (pictured) coming in fifth in his quarter-final.

Collins sat in third with five laps of the semi-final to go but was eventually edged out to finish in seventh.

Hill, who has been selected to represent Team GB at the European Youth Olympic Festival, qualified for the 500m heats as one of the fastest third placed skaters. The 17-year-old also won a ranking final preliminary in the 1000m.

Collins made the 1000m quarter-finals, after an advancement from his heat. He just missed out on a place in the semi-final, coming in third behind the eventual silver medallist Geonnyeong Park from Korea.
