British Figure Skating Championships Qualifier Comes to a Close

The final day of the British Figure Skating Championships Qualifier will see all Senior Men, Women, Pairs and Ice Dance couples take to the ice.


Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson, 7th in the most recent World Championships, were in fine form scoring 78.07 in the Rhythm Dance. Sasha Fear and George Waddell ended in second place with a score of 67.77.


Action starts with the Advanced Novice Dance Free Dance at 12:00 with Junior Dance to follow before the Senior couples begin. The competition will then move to the Pairs event, with Advanced Novice Pairs set to compete at 13:55.


Graham Newberry is just one of two men to skate in the Senior Men's event, finishing his short program with a score of 71.68. Dundee's Elliott Thompson, the other skater in the draw, was awarded 56.40. They will be skating their Free Skate at 14:30.


Kristen Spours is leading the way in the Senior Women's side of the competition after a score of 58.91 in her short program. Karly Robertson (53.63) and Nina Povey (53.39) sit in second and third spot respectively. The first Senior Women's group are set to get underway at 15:00.
